I'm slightly bemused about the fact that there isn't already a thread for this. Still, I know that quite a few of us on this forum are well excited about this game and cannae wait for its release. The US gets it on the 22nd of July, and Europe doesn't have a firm date as such, but apparently we should be getting it at some point in the summer. Seeing as I never played the original, nor the GBA version of this game, I don't have to worry about the potential for there not being many changes. I've read RPGamer's and IGN's impressions of it, and so far, it's sounding impressive. So, peeps, discussion!

I just bet we won't get it until something like September.
Either way, I'm importing it. Got nothing to lose since you don't even get star points with third party games.

That is a point. I might import it. I wanna compare prices, first. I got FFIII in the later half of last year, after it had been out for a few months, and I got it pre-owned in Game On for £20, so I didn't have to spend a bomb on that, at least. I dunno, I'll see.

£22.94 new on Play-Asia, plus £1.50 for delivery, so it'd be pretty cheap to import, considering it'll be £30-£35 new once it's released here.

Buying it in the States to avoid import taxes. That and anything else good I find. This does look like a brilliant game.

How much would it cost in the States, converted into poundage? I might give you some monies to buy it for me as well, if it's cheap enough ...

Between £15 and £20 but you'd need to get it converted and I suspect it may be more than that because SE tend to put the RRP up for their games. Plus you'd need to convert it now.

Well, Vista has a currency converter widget, so if you tell me what the DOLLARES price would be, I can convert. Or if you can find the widget, you can. Either way, that sounds like a good pricey.

Saw the game in the store today, it costs the same as FFTA2: $39.99, which is ten bucks more expensive than the average DS game.
This is just me speaking, but I have no interest in getting FFIV DS. Don't get me wrong, as you know, I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy, going back to when the original game was released on the NES. But, after getting Final Fantasy IV Advance when it came out a couple years back, I'm not seeing enough new with the DS version to justify a purchase. It's the same game, and the DS version doesn't even have the Lunar Ruins bonus dungeon that FFIV Advance featured (which was an excellent addition to the GBA edition of the game).

True, if you got the GBA version, there really is no reason to buy it that I can see. I intend to try to get V and VI on GBA. Still looking for this when I go soon.

I think I may be the only one who will be getting FFIV DS after owning the GBA version, then? Eh, I think it's worth it. (Oh, thinking about it, I also have it on the PS1 Anthology thing too. >_>

Same, since I've never played it, this version is probably the best I'm going to get. Also, it's only marginally more expensive than buying FFIV on GBA here new. Still, I'm amazed that the GAME website still has new versions of V and VI. I did once see IV on PS in the Anthology for about £10 and I wasn't allowed to buy it for some reason. I think it may have had something to do with me not having any money.

xD That would definitely be a limitation, in a situation like that. I don't think your mum would be much chuffed with you turning to crime to satiate your gaming needs, and nicking the game when you can't afford it. I mean, considering how she reacted when she first found out that Stephen smokes ;D.
I'm obsessed simply with the look of this game. I wouldn't be able to go and get the GBA version, now that I've seen the graphical update it has been through.

True but she could have bought it for me and had me pay her back. It was only £10 and it was for two awesome and very long games so it's not like I wouldn't have gotten any value out of it.
