Imagine Death Note and Gundam SEED merged and you - kinda - get Code Geass.
Simply saying it's like those two anime merged kinda dubs it down, though. It's an awesome anime and is much more deeper than that.

I'd say it's a combination of Death Note, Gundam and V for Vendetta but that's just me.
And it certainly is much deeper than that and kicks butt. It's been awarded best anime of 2006, best male character of 2006 and best male and female seiyuus of 2006. Not exactly much to be sniffed at.
Somehow, it took me ages to get into this but somehow I can't sit and immediatly watch something people recommend to me at the time, it can take me up to two years to actually get into it (no joke). I was recommended this by Richard here and Nebby but the latter seems to have decided he doesn't like it anymore (figures he'd do that).
I seem to have chosen the perfect time to get into it though since the second season starts next month. At the moment, I'd say my favourite moment is when Suzaku shoots the helmet and it falls off in two neat pieces. Partly because of all the tension just after it and partly because the animators went mental with Lelouch's hair at this point!

Okay, just watched episode two of R2. Freaking brilliant. We learned how Lelouch lost his memories and a little more about who his "brother" is. Who clearly is not a wimp, like he was portrayed in the first episode.

Who clearly is not a wimp, like he was portrayed in the first episode. Let's just hope he has a better name than Rollo though. Or turns out to be Nunally. Also, how cruel was Suzaku in that episode? I know he's incredibly pissed of at Lelouch and this is understandable but he sold him out...in a straight jacket no less.

... Anyway, yeah, just caught up; I finished season one last night, and watched the first two episodes of season two today. I'm still upset about bloody Euphemia, and very very angry at Lelouch. Kat, you're right about how cool that scene where Suzaku shot Lelouch's helmet off was. I find that the women that support Zero/Lelouch really annoy me, and I wish the likes of Milly, Leval and Shirley were shown more. Nina I can cope without, funnily enough (and what the f**k has happened to her hair?! ). I'd like to know what Villeta has been up to and why she was in the Ashford Academy. I also want to see Ougi again. He's sweet. Also, end of season one: what the hell had happened to Orange-kun? As for Cornelia; I can't tell if she's supposed to be dead, or not. They mentioned her in R2 Ep2, but I couldn't tell if they were insinuating she had died or not.

I think Orange-kun is dead, after all C.C. forced him into the sea at the end of the last series. I explained earlier what Viletta is up to but it's still really funny to see her as a PE teacher. Cornelia could easily be dead considering the condition she was in at the end of the series but then, since one of her knights found her, it's possible she was treated. I had a thought earlier that it would be really funny if she became blind and lost the use of her legs. Just a thought. What happens with Shirley will certainly be interesting now that Lelouch is acting as Zero again. That could possibly be the focus of next episode (considering spoiler screenshots). Which brings me to my next point that the series was nearly in jeopardy this week when the last 6 minutes of the 3rd episode were put on the internet by mistake. Thankfully, everythings been sorted but it was unknown what would happen with the episode and the person responsible was arrested for it, then released.

randomc.animeblogger.net/2007/06/21/code-geass-875-picture-drama-06-dvd-special/all-comments/#commentsI particularly thought this part was funny: When Cornelia makes her speech to commemorate the opening of the pool, Lelouch can’t help but glare at her. Shirley notices this and points it out to Milly, though Milly thinks that it’s normal for a healthy high school boy because of how impressive Cornelia is, referring to the size of Cornelia’s chest. Nunnally doesn’t catch on to this and questions how she can become like Cornelia, so Milly answers that she needs to be trained by men in various ways. Taking this literally, Nunnally asks her brother to teach her how to become as impressive as Cornelia, and Shirley is shocked when he agrees to teach her everything. Lelouch, however, says that he won’t go easy on her, so Nunnally promises to work hard to satisfy him. Milly teasingly interprets all this as beautiful but dangerous sibling love, which gets Shirley in a panic because she knows there’s been a misunderstanding. The comments are kind of amusing too. Still, I'm now really worried about what Nina got up to later that night, considering she had seen Euphie in her swimsuit no less.

Scary...really scary. Please, no more of that.
Anyway, I want to see Cornelia make her come back, I get the distinct feeling that it will kick ass.

Of course it will! And Viletta needs to get amnesia again so that we can have more Viletta/Ougi squeeness.

Let's not forget that Ougi still needs to get out of jail but that's likely to happen in the next few episodes anyway. Still, I'm doubtful that those in jail will be loyal to Zero if they do get out.

Now he is rescued! Yay. However, episode four only strengthened my conviction that Lelouch is nothing more than a heartless, conniving bastard.

Really, I have no love for Rolo for having a name like that, killing so many people and just being so stupid as to fall for that knowing everything Lelouch has done.

I dun' exactly love Rolo either (ewww, the caramel bit in the centre), but that doesn't exactly make the camp boy any cooler. Also, is it just me or was that episode fairly uneventful? I tire of constant reliance upon mecha fights ... ho hum. Anyway, I'll watch episode five now, and then we can chat aboot that too.

Episode 5 was hilarious and had the most brilliant twist at the end. If he doesn't act fast enough, Karen will work out his other secret. I really want to see how this is going to play out.

My CG-watchage hiatus meant that I've forgotten some things. Like who the hell those Chinese people are, what they did, and who they're actually in league with. And what is Lelouch keeping from Karen?
Anyways, I had to watch episode five in silence, 'cos the sound was so out of synch with the animation, that I was hearing everything about half a minute before I saw/read it. Episodes 6 and 7 were also watched by myself last night, though with the sound up, thank God. Lelouch is just even more of an idiot, though.
