Right, so I finally manage to rip some footage off of a DVD for me to edit, but now Windows Movie Maker keeps crashing. >____< Does anyone know any other good, free video editing software?

As I suggested over on ToG, you might want to try the trial offer of the Adobe video editing program. I can't remember the name, it begins with a "p", I think. Prime...or something....

Premiere, yeah, I downloaded that, but it seems to be a bit advanced for my uses and I don't really want to spend a lot of time trying to learn how to use it since the trial onlt lasts for 30 days and after that I'll have to buy a copy which is £700 for the newest version. I was quite happy with Windows Movie Maker until I started crashing on me since it splits up the whole video I import into smaller chunks making it easier to edit. I don't really want to go through doing that manually since i'm pretty lazy.
