Such a underrated anime! For a while, it used to be my favourite one of all. There is also a manga, but it's not so good in my opinion. It was also made after the anime too and seemed a bit too comical in places for my liking. I own the whole of season 2, but I haven't been able to get season 1 yet. Well anyway, The Big O has been the most philosophical anime I've ever watched and has left me thinking for a lot of time afterwards. Sadly, it was never completed and the anime stopped getting produced after the second season. There was meant to be a third to tie it all up. Hmm, I found a petition for a third season, but I'm not sure it'll work. Still, sign it, I did! www.petitiononline.com/savebigo/petition.htmlThe anime also has some truely amazing music. It sounded like a whole orchestra teamed up to make it (they may have done, I dunno. ) Well it's classical music mostly, but well worth a listen. Some clips of the music can be found here: www.savebigo.com/modules.php?name=Soundtracks .

I loved it so much, I would stay up late just to watch it when it was cancelled from the 7 slot. It does really make you think about the nature of existance, how valuable memories are and how much they affect your life. I own 5 volumes of the manga, which sucks. They draw him completely wrong and he looks like such a baby. Dorothy's eyes are completely wrong and are drawn the way that shows she's broken in the anime, which confused me for ages. Maybe two series was enough though, it makes you consider more what would have happen and it's that thought provoking that maybe a third would have ruined it.

Yeah, the manga is pretty bad. 2 series might be enough, but I really want the story to finish. I can't accept that it ends there. Ah well, I've still got the DVDs to watch over and over again.

The Big O, Overstock.com. I had to. I watched the show on Toonami occasionally, it was kind of cool, some of the stuff was actually pretty awesome, and done very well. I think I might have just been too young to appreciate it really. It felt kinda like some strange Batman guy, with a giant mecha, fighting other giant mechas in a city that had police that reminded me of Gotham City. (I hated Batman at the time also... so that's what may have killed it for me.)

Maybe Roger's car too, but what the heck? Still, I read somewhere that it's airing again in the US on Adult Swim, so watch it!

I may watch it, if I'm ever up late enough, or have control of the TV. (Stupid brother.)
Yeah... it just kinda reminded me a little of Batman in some ways. At least I wasn't the only person who thought so. ^^; (Or else I may have sounded crazy. >_>)

Lol, heck no, loads of people say it's like Batman! Ah yeah, I forgot Adult Swim starts fairly late. Still, at least you have the opportunity in the US. We get squat.

*Shrug* I guess that's true... Adult Swim would be handy if my brother ever stopped watching TV.

Sigh, I miss it so much. I loved it, especially the bit at the end when Big Venus appeared. Roger's speech was great, although my favourite line from it is still "Some people like to stand in the rain without an umbrella. That's what it means to live free." from the episode with the fake Dorothy. She was so creepy, it was cool! I have to say, I never really made te connection between it and Batman, mainly because Gotham doesn't usually have giant mechas.

Hah, yeah, Batman in a mecha, geez that'd be cheesy. That's always been a quote that's stuck in my mind too. Damn, talking about Big O makes me wanna watch it, but I'll end up doing nothing but that for the rest of the night.

|'ve tried so hard to find and the best I've come across is a bittorrent for the second series. Not bad but not great seeing as bittorrent is having a bit of trouble starting up. Found some good AMVs of Big O but most of them are god awful, I can't stand it. I put my favourite in my blog.
Hehehe, watching a version of the Ultimate Showdown someone made, with Big O as Optimus Prime. Well...

You could always import the DVDs. I imported the second season a while back and it only cost me about £17 including postage. Yeah, that music video you posted in your blog was awesome. That inspired me to go and find a way to rip the DVDs without giving up. I finally managed to and when I came to edit and make into an AMV, Windows Movie Maker keeps screwing up. >__< Interesting site I just found, you wanna give it a look if you're a fan: www.freewebs.com/seebach/#whatisbigo

HOLY CRUD! This deserves a bump! You know, I was feeling a bit nostalgic, so I thought I'd go over to an old Big O site ... Apparently, in Japan, there's a new opening for the anime, since it's being aired again. Watched the opening too ... not bad, but that's not the point; if it's airing again, it should be getting attention.
Also, there are new box set releases for US and Japan with all of the episodes that were released this year. One can only assume it's getting a lot of attention ... and if it becomes popular enough ... perhaps we could see the season 3 we thought for dead? I only hope so. Hope is all I have with this show. >.<
