Soo, usually, people make threads about their favourite novels and what-not but there are plenty of books out there that aren't fictional stories. Anyone read any sort of information books (they're more interesting than it sounds)?

Erm, I've read a book about dreams at my Grandma's house before. Not a lot of it though. I've read bits of ghost books at the school's library and other supernatural stuffs. I don't read much non-fictional stuff.

I have a book of English surnames that really is quite basic and lacking but I find that interesting, so I read through that for surnames sometimes. I also like to read my dad's latin dictionary to find latin words that I can turn into names like JKR does ^_^. Ermies, I also read ... stuff. Damn, i can't remember.

I've read a few that are accounts of battles and stuff from soldiers, such as, Thunder Run, Jarhead, and The Battle of Mogadishu.
I'm also working on a more historic type book right now called Holy War Inc. It's a good book but it takes a long time to read.

but I love the books I have about the civil war in the 1800's, Gods and Generals---The Killer Angels---The Last Full Measure ... they're kinda set up like fiction books, but they're actually historic... the way the author writes them is really interesting and kept me reading through them. There's alot of quotes in the books that I liked, I have them all typed up here on my computer somewhere..

The non fictional stuff I read is normally band biographies/autobiographies... really very interesting and nearly always make me a bit tearful (or more than a bit if about the libertines)
Oh, I also have one about bodysnatchers. Which is really compelling. And a little scary. I used to have one about ghosts of London too, which gave me the worst nightmares ever and is the reason why I am so freaking scared of Jack the Ripper.

I have a load that I've never read but right now I'm reading Mussolini by Bosworth, The Last Days of Hitler by Hugh Trevor-Roper (our favorite quoted historian from A Level) and The Rise of Facism. Considering reading How Long is a Piece of String? at last.

I have a dictionary of Scottish Place-Names, which is quite interesting. And an encylcopedia on space. The Guinness Book of World Records is always fun as well.
