Well I'm interested, how many hours does everyone have at school or did? How much time do you get off at half term and stuff and how long do you get off after each year? Well I think I have 6 hours at school a day and I go for 5 days a week (doesn't everyone? ). I have a week off at half term and I know we sometimes have 2 weeks off. I just dunno when that is. As for each year, we have 6 weeks off. I've heard some really annoying stuff before, like today, my friend Oliver told me that his girlfriend (who goes to a private school) gets 9 weeks off after each year. I mean, how unfair is that?!

Errr, well technically I've finished school now but we had the same amount of weeks off as you. 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter each. About 6 weeks in the summer holidays. 1 week for every halfterm. That kinda thing. It'll be the same in Sixth Form, I guess, seeing as my college is kind of attached to my High School.

Wow, can tell you do a lot in your lessons . Well, currently this week I've been going in each day for just one lesson; on Monday I had a history lesson 5th period and I had another one today during 3rd period. Tomorrow I have to go in for two lessons and then I have another one last period on Friday. Last history lesson is next Tuesday, then I have no more lessons until September!

Sanzo - Yeah, I'm God now! You know it! ;D Cliquey - Going to school for like one lesson, 'tis madness. Still, it's better than going for five, lol! These last two weeks for us aren't really relaxed. Doing coursework and rushing to have it down before the six weeks off.

I had another two History lessons this morning but it wasn't too bad. I was late to school, so I walked really fast so when I get in, I was exhausted and sweaty and ... ick. But at least my teacher didn't mind at all ^_^.

I had to do the same as Cliquey but at college I only have to do 3 and 1/2 days. And finish in June instead of July.

When we get into 6th form, we get more time off than before. We'll have more time for induction but we get the same amount of time for study leave. At the moment, I'm doing the same as Cliquey because we're going to the same classes. She just saved me from going through the explanation.

I have no idea how many weeks we get off, but I wish it were more. It gets shorter every year, soon our summer break here will be... nothing. *Shrug* We don't even use up all our snow days and such, and they still take days off our vacation, it's stupid. We still had like 3 days left of no school, before they could start taking off holidays, and they took a week off of easter, and I think... five days off of Christmas.

That sounds horrible! Does this normally happen in schools in the US?

Not really sure... but that's what's happening in this area at least... this whole state I think. It's happening to the school where my mom works also, it's a different district. *Shrug* Not sure about the other states either, but if it wasn't...

Which state is it that you live in?
I think that's pretty harsh. I think over here schools have to have a certain amount of holiday, though private schools tend to have MUCH longer holidays, which is slightly unfair. My county has decided to change the location of certain holiday breaks, though, so it doesn't fit with those of schools from over counties in the country.
