Well, the Japanese don't have an equivalent of 'l' in their 'alphabet', so that explains the substitution of an 'r' for an 'l'. This is a situation ignored by many people around the world. Mostly people learning Japanese who think that translators mis-translated names. (Example: Zoro/Zolo from One Piece. Or Erika/Elika from FE:SS... so on.)

XDDD My name (Sam Benzie) translates as Samu Benzi XDD And I'm sure that's pronounced as usual as well (Sam Ben-zee).
