By demographic, I mean stuff like shonen, shojo and seinen. If you don't know what these are, they're basically what age group a manga is aimed at. Look it up if you don't get it. Anyway, I'd say my favourite demographic is seinen and I'm certainly warming up to shojo more now. Seinen I like because of the content usually involved. Unlike a lot of shonen, there seems to be a lot more character development and more realistic characters, as well as more realistic situations. The deeper stories usually interest me a lot more. Of course, in some you do get extreme gore and sex, but I don't read them solely for that. >_>; Favourites from this are Berserk (favourite manga fullstop), xxxHolic and Black Lagoon. As for shojo, I caught up with Ouran High School Host Club and recently finished Fruits Basket and I really love direction both take. I like the fact that it seems that shojo manga is very much character driven, with a lot of development, a bit similar to seinen in that respect. But what I also really like the the sappy, romantic stuff.

I'm almost annoyed at myself for being a shojo lover. I mean, I hate all the sappy stuff in films but in manga, I just squee. Then again, look at the state of most chick flicks and it's almost understandable.
