Well, we have a few ideas for themes so far, and soon, work will be starting on issue two, our first new issue in six months, so we need to make a decision regarding what theme this issue will be covering. If you have a different idea, vote 'Other' and post your suggestion, and I'll hold that in consideration too. Be sure to vote soon if you want a say in this!
Also, my final decision won't necessarily reflect the majority vote; this is just to give me an idea, essentially, of what would likely be the most popular choice.

Well, voting is over now. It's a draw, so considering which is most achievable for now, I have selected Super Powers as the theme of issue two of the publication! So, get writing! For those of you who can't think of a particular style of article, or who don't have much time this month, feel free to select a few of the article types as listed below and craft your writing around your choices. These are available for everyone, and a maximum of three per person can be chosen (but no person can choose more than one of the same type). If you would like clarification regarding what any of them entail, just ask me.
Editor's Note Quote Review Link [1] If ... [e.g. You Could Have A Super Power, What Would It Be?] To Be Debated Fact 1 A Suggestion/A Piece Of Advice In The News Today How To Survive ... [Review 2] Opinion My Interpretation A Small Tale Fact 2 Rant Simple Observation By The Way
Articles are due in Friday 8th August at 23:00 (GMT). You can email them to me, PM them to me on this forum, or if you have me added on MSN, send the file over to me that way. Also, it is important that everybody post in this thread the general direction that they intend to take their article in. It doesn't have to follow closely to the theme if you do not want to, but bear in mind that that is the ideal. However, regardless of whether it does or not, in order to ensure we don't have any overlaps in the material of each article, I'd like for you to all fill out the following form and post it in this thread:
Article title: (Don't worry if you can't think of one straight away - this just needs to be the subject of the article essentially. You can think of an actual title for it later, or if that's too hard, I'll title it when I publish the issue) Main area of reference: (E.g. video games, or films, or books and so on) Two titles likely to be referenced within the article: (Just to get an idea of what sorts of things are going to be discussed. This way, people can adapt their ideas if anybody has the same as them. Don't worry if your ideas later change - just let us know)
If anybody feels that the deadline is totally unachievable, then let me know, and we can arrange an extension.
There are three types of article length, depending on what you choose from the above list: 150 words, 500 words and 700 words . As for those of you who don't wish to use any of the above types, if you unsure whether your article is too long or too short, let me know and I'll help you figure it out. Don't forget I'm here if you have any questions.
Good luck!

Superpowers. This will actually take some thinking. Since... I don't think about them very much. =/
Article title: Superpowers = Escapism? Main area of reference: Life, Comic Books, Video Games Two titles likely to be referenced within the article: Bioshock (Stick with me here), No particular Comics... but random Superheroes, Star Wars (Once again, stick with me).
I think I've come up with something. :3

Chars so far, people. Also, considering the number of votes for Violence as well, that will likely be the theme of the next issue, so that's something for you to look forward to. In some ways, it's probably best to do one of your hardest themes first, because then you have tonnes of ideas for the theme you like most all ready, and can still think of something to write after the first article. And I think I explained that really badly . Anyway, now I need to think about what I'm going to write .

Thanks Kat-chan. I'm liking the variety we've got here so far. Try not to let procrastination strike. I know I used to leave my homework late, but if anybody is the sort who doesn't work well that close to the deadline, try and get the main body of your article done at least a few days before Friday, so that you don't get too stressed out .
