Now that the episode has been out for a few days, I'll post the rather long conversation Kat and I had going on her blog:
Kat: What a great new episode. Seriously, I was wondering what was going on all the way through and what everyone would do. Unfortunately, no one refered to HRG as Noah but I was going mental wondering what had happened to Peter and Nathan. Then the end was so good, amnesia FTW!!! Cork FTW!!! Plus that guy that likes Claire...squee! I love any character who can fly really. Have to say I'm not overly interested in the brother and sister pair, even though one is called Maya but I am interested in the guy who killed Hiro's dad and the one Molly had dreams about.
Sophie: I think the one in Molly's dreams must be the Bogeyman, and obviously Sylar is still out there somewhere.
The ending was awesome. The episode was pretty good, but by that point I was starting to think that it wasn't quite as gripping as I was hoping for, but then of course there's a crazy plot development for Peter, and that made it awesome. I'm a little confused, though, because I thought Nathan exploded with Peter (which was why I was confused about him returning to the show), but obviously he didn't, so what the hell happened there? Tim Kring already said that Peter would not have been able to keep himself afloat whilst harbouring all the nuclear energy, so Nathan can't have let go of him.
I liked Claire in this episode, and West seems okay. I was a bit disappointed by the absence of Niki, though.
It's interesting how characters like Matt and Nathan have ended up driving away their family, though, since the events at the end of season 1. I never really considered that something like that may have happened.
Kat: I guess we really should have had some foresight in terms of that. Living with someone who can see all your thoughts must be rather unnerving but he did also abandon her there to go after revenge so really, he didn't end up picking wisely if he wanted to stay married. Is it just me or did it seem really obvious that Matt would adopt Molly?
As for Nathan, there's something else going on there. The burns he had when he looked in the mirror suggest that he only just survived but I can't begin to understand why a blast that would have killed millions didn't kill him. What I really want to know is how is he hiding that? And if he didn't survive, what the hell is going on?
Sylar is really obviously still out there since there was a trail of blood at the end of series one. He's like a bloody cockroach. I really want to know is the bogeyman is the same person who killed Hiro's father because that would be interesting, plus it's already obvious this person has some sort of power which sort of fits the description.
Peter could not have shown up in a better place, my cousins live in Cork. He could go stay with them! Still, I'm wondering why he had the mark around his neck like The Haitian did and thinking maybe the company got to him in some way before Nathan and their mother found out. I was getting a bit panicky because Peter is one of my favourites and he hadn't shown up all episode.
Yes, absense of Niki is regretable but let's be optimistic. Still, now that Jessica is gone, it seems a bit of a waste to bring her back.
Sophie: Well, Matt's wife always annoyed Alec and I so, so we don't mind much xD. To be honest, whenever I await new seasons of TV shows, I never really consider how characters' lives may have changed, so I never even considered that Matt would be looking after Molly. Besides, I wasn't really sure how well he'd be, considering he'd got hit by about four bullets.
I'm pretty sure that when Nathan looked into the mirror in that bar, that it was a reflection of Peter that he saw, with the burns. The un-burnt side of the face looked like Peter, and when Nathan looks back in the mirror again, the reflection is completely different, to suit his own.
The killer of Hiro's father may well be the Bogeyman, but I don't think they displayed any power. All I saw was them throw them self over the building with him. Admittedly, the video was a little dark, so I might have missed something; if they fell over with him, then they certainly disappeared pretty fast, so maybe they do have some sort of power. I get the feeling that the Bogeyman plot won't start to be fully revealed until the latter half of the season, though.
Jessica would indubitably return. Just because Niki has her under control at the moment, doesn't mean she constantly will. No doubt some huge event will tip her over the edge again, and course Jessica to resurface. Or maybe something will occur to Jessica. Niki is an important character, so I'm sure the writers will think of something new for her, to enable her to develop more. Oh, and I was slightly worried about Peter not returning in this episode too, but at least I knew that he wasn't dead. That might have been worse, wondering if perhaps he would never be coming back.
Kat: Well true, she was annoying but he didn't exactly do the right thing by her. I just thought since Matt was so protective of Molly and she didn't have any parents that it was inevitable. True he took four bullets but they didn't seem to hit anything major if you look where they hit. There should have been more bleeding than that though, I think one hit his stomach.
The video was dark but I don't remember seeing that guy there after he threw himself off the building. Most people (bar Peter) don't throw themselves off buildings without knowing what they're doing.
Yeah, I saw that the unburnt side of his face looked like Peter but I'm ultra-confused by that. Right now I'm wondering how Peter picked up that other power because I don't remember seeing it before. I'm also wondering if The Haitian has taken all of his memories but left the necklace to try to remind him of who he is.
Sophie: True, Matt didn't exactly make the smartest decision, but then his wife cheated on him, so she's not exactly innocent either.
I think Nathan was just being slightly delusional. He was drunk, longing to see his brother again; I guess, just for a moment, he saw him in the mirror.
Kat: Possible but still, there's that little bit of doubt. That wouldn't really explain the burns either, I don't know anyone THAT dillusional when they're drunk.
Matt's a bit of an idiot, why the heck did they let him on the plan to take down the company? They were headed for divorce anyway.
So what does everyone think?
